Background
All materials assigned to a student within Amplio Speech & Language are stored and managed in the student’s individual assignment queue. In order to leverage Amplio’s data collection and documentation tools, Educators must assign activities to students’ assignment queues. This article will review how to assign activities to students as well as access and manage your students’ Amplio assignment queues.
Assigning Materials to Students’ Assignment Queues
This interactive walk-through and the information below will guide Educators through the process of assigning materials to students' assignment queues in Amplio.
While planning for sessions, Educators can preview and assign materials within the Program Library. Begin by navigating to the desired program, collection, then unit. See the Amplio Term Glossary for in-depth guidance on the terminology utilized to denote levels of organization throughout Amplio’s evidence-based programs.
The activities are listed on the left side of the screen. In the visual shown above, there are six activities in the Story Vocabulary unit. The activity includes skill instruction as well as exercises for practice. To assign the activity, click on the blue "Assign" button.
Next, assign activities to students individually or by group (see Amplio's Creating and Managing Groups article in the Help Center for guidance on creating groups). In the Selection section, confirm the activity has been assigned to the correct students. Click the "x" next to their name to remove them from the assignment. All newly assigned activities will appear at the top of the student's assignment queue. Those that prefer to add the activity to the end of the queue should check the box.
Make sure Independent Practice is toggled ‘on’ to allow the students to practice the exercises from that assignment when they log into Amplio outside of a session. Otherwise, turn Independent Practice off.
Click the blue "Assign" button at the bottom of the window to complete the activity assignment.
Managing the Assignment Queue
This interactive walk-through and the information below will review how to access, and manage students' Amplio assignment queues.
Individual assignment queues may be found in individual student profiles. To access the student's profile, click on the Groups and Students icon located on the left side of the screen. Click on the student's name or initials to open the student's profile.
To the left of each activity name, there are 6 dots. Click and drag these dots to move the assignment up or down in the queue. The assignment listed at the top will be presented first to the student when he or she logs in for a session or independent practice.
A checkmark in the SI Reviewed section indicates that this student has been shown the skill instruction for that assignment. Scoring status will be indicated by a green or orange icon only for tasks that involve collecting recordings. If the icon is orange, there are items that require scoring. If the icon is green, it indicates scoring all for all items has been completed.
The Independent Practice toggle allows SLPs to control whether or not the student can access the assignment when practicing independently - outside of a session.
Hovering over the Progress widget will reveal the date of assignment, date of last practice, and progress toward activity completion. Clicking the arrow beside the Progress widget will reset the activity's progress.
The Accuracy column displays the cumulative accuracy as a percentage.
Educators may turn the "Repetition" feature on or off. When Repetition is enabled, the activity will repeat after the student finishes all exercises.
Select the three dots located on the far right side of the assignment queue to archive the assignment or move it to the top of the queue. To move archived assignments back to the assignment queue, simply click on the three dots and select "assign again."
If a student completes all exercises in an expressive activity with recordings, the assignment and all its data will move to the Ready to Score section. Click on the assignment to adjust scoring or review the collected data for this assignment. Here, Educators can listen to recordings and/or adjust the scoring. The accuracy will reflect the changes made.
