Throughout Amplio Speech & Language, youāll find specific terminology that refers to users, tools and resources, and to denote levels of organization throughout the evidence-based programs. Users
Administrators (admins): Users that have an administrative function in the system. They oversee at various levels, including the state, district, or school.
Caregivers/Parents: Adults who are responsible for the student and involved in their education and therapy or intervention.
Educators: Trained professional that provides services to students. Includes licensed professionals (i.e., certified Speech Language Pathologists, certified Academic Language Therapists) and support professionals (i.e., Speech Language Pathology Assistants or Educational assistants).
Primary Educator: Main educator for a student that is clinically responsible. Only one primary per student. Additional educators may be assigned as non-primary educators.
Students: School-aged children who use the platform as a part of therapy to remediate a communication or reading disorder.
Users: The individuals who will use the platform.
Common Terms
Assessment: A single unit of evaluation whose exercises are designed to take baseline or progress data related to a studentās performance. Includes both Skill Instruction and Exercise materials.
Varieties: Probes, Screeners, Language Sample
Assignments: Activities or assessments from the program directory that can be assigned to a student queue.
Assignment Queue: List of assignments associated with a particular student
The most recent assignments appear at the top of the queue
Queue order determines what is presented to the student
Exercises may or may not be marked as available for independent practice
Caseload: A group of students that are associated with an educator. Admins or Amplio Support Team members are responsible for associating students and educators by caseload.
Exercise Scoring: The process of marking a studentās response on an exercise as correct or incorrect. Scoring options include:
Correct
Incorrect
Unscorable
Group: A subset of the educatorās caseload, created by the educator. Educators have flexibility to create and name groups according to their preferences. Students can be associated with multiple groups.
Ready to Score: The list of assignments that were previously in the studentās queue, are no longer in progress, and still require scoring.
Session: The time an educator spends in direct instruction with one or more students. The session feature is closely tied to data and documentation features in the platform.
Skill Instruction: Digital, multimedia materials an educator can use to teach a student specific concepts.

Program Library
Highest level in the platform hierarchy. From this page, you have access to each Program within Amplio Speech & Language.
Program Page
Where you land when you click into an individual program, which includes a summary of the Programās contents, who itās relevant for, and an overview of the Collections contained within the Program.
Collection/Sub-collection
Organizational folders grouping relevant materials.
Unit
Lowest organization level that contains the activities to be completed
(i.e., activities or assessments)
Activity
A bundle of exercises + skill instruction
Exercise
A single question or task
