Do you want to share YouTube but not the ads?

Updated over a year ago

Sharing an uninterrupted YouTube video during a session grants you another tool with which to interact with students, supplementing the platform's smart activities.

To present a YouTube video to a student:

  1. Open the YouTube video on a new browser tab and copy the URL.

  2. Select the YouTube icon in the lower right corner of the Classroom.

  3. Paste the URL into the empty field above the video player.
    ā€‹

  4. Assign the video to your student with the Assign to students button.
    ā€‹

The student must select play to view the video. In a group session, you can watch along or close your preview and work with another student.

Tip: This is another time that itā€™s important that you are wearing headphones to stream a YouTube video because if youā€™re not, then your computer audio is going to be picked up by your microphone and the student will hear echoing of the audio.

Once the student has watched the video, you can close the YouTube window and continue using platform activities as before.

The YouTube player can be used to play motivating songs or videos at the beginning of therapy, during therapy breaks, or at the end of a session. It's also great to show real life examples of social scenarios to address pragmatic language goals and to access short movies to address story retell and sequencing goals.

Thereā€™s still more to explore! Welcome to Amplio. Weā€™re glad youā€™re here!
