To access the whiteboard feature, select the paint brush icon in the bottom right corner of the classroom.
Just as with an activity, you'll first see a preview of the whiteboard and can assign it to specific students as needed. Once assigned, you'll all be able to use the the whiteboard and its tools.
Tip: If students are using a stylus with an ipad, prevent accidental marks and typing with their hands by changing Apple Pencil settings on the device.
Open Settings
Select Apple Pencil
Toggle the following as needed:
Only Draw with Apple Pencil - On
Scribble - Off
You can insert typed text onto the whiteboard by typing into the âinsert textâ box. The typed text will appear on the whiteboard as a selectable object. You can move it around, copy and duplicate the text, or make it bigger or smaller.
Besides the pencil, there are other writing tools including shapes such as a line, rectangle, and circle.
Then there are different colors so you or the student can change the color of the text or shapes.
If you or the student want to remove something, select the arrow back âundoâ or the trash can icon to delete everything that appears on the screen.
Some ways to use the whiteboard feature include: using a bullseye to show how well a student is approximating a sound, making a quick sentence strip visual with words, or completing a Venn diagram or graphic organizer.
