Section Eight - Práctica de Escritura (Writing Practice)

Brief description of the section and deep look into the activities

Updated over a year ago

In this section, the students learn how to write cursive letters, words, sentences, and paragraphs. They also add punctuation marks to sentences, identify parts of a sentence, and parts of a story. Having the students practice handwriting in their own notebooks is highly encouraged.

Some activities from this section are:

  • Writing letters (lowercase and capital) and groups of letters

  • Writing words/sentences from dictation, copying from board/paper, or by formulating their own sentences

  • Writing sentences and adding punctuation marks/accents

  • Writing the alphabet in order

  • Writing paragraphs

  • Filling in the blanks in phrases

  • Adding punctuation marks to sentences

  • Writing and sorting words under categories

  • Identifying parts of a story (title, main idea, details, conclusion)

  • Identifying subjects, verbs, and adjectives

Tip: Have the students repeat the letters, words, and sentences before they write them down in their notebook.
