Let's take a close look on the first section of the Esperanza curriculum

In this section, you will review the concepts studied the previous day which is done with a fun and engaging deck card activity that both you and your students can flip.

How can I use the deck?

  1. Initially, the card is face-down and depending on the lesson, some sections contain initial review information. When ready, hover over the card and select the flip icon to reveal the letter sound.

  2. If you want to emphasize the sound of the letter you can push the speaker icon to hear it. All of the letter sounds in the platform were recorded by the Esperanza creator Dr. Cardenas-Hagan.

  3. Hover over the card and use the arrows to move back and forward as needed to reveal the keyword(s) or flip back to the letter sound.

    Note: The hints shaded in gray with the crossed-out eye icon are not visible to the students.
