You may or may not have to do this, depending on whether youāre scheduling sessions yourself or your School Services Coordinator (SSC) or School Services Manager (SSM) is scheduling them. They will let you know. This is still important for you to know how to manage.
Types of Sessions
Session - Sessions performed either in the classroom or remotely (30 minutes by default for Speech Language (SL) & 45 minutes by default for Dyslexia)
Assessment - Individual assessment performed in the platform (90 minutes by default)
Consult Service - Scheduled on calendar, but performed outside of the platform (30 minutes by default)
IEP Meeting - Scheduled on calendar, but performed outside of the platform (30 minutes by default)
Supervised session - When Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) supervisors need to observe a session they can use this option. This option will open a view of the session with no smart activities or automatic session notes, it is for observing.
Default times are editable to fit your studentsā needs and specific schedule.
How to Create a Session
Here is an example workflow to create a new Session:
1. On the calendar, either select the desired block of time or select the Create new session button.
2. Select Session from the list of session types.
Note: Some users need to choose the service type for the session from the service drop down if they provide more than one service such as SL and Dyslexia.
3. Select the circular arrows icon to set up recurring sessions. If your session is recurring, all session settings apply to every scheduled session based on the recurrence.
4. Set the session start time and duration. Use the drop-down menus or type in what you need to align with your bell schedule. For duration, you can also use the up and down arrows to add or remove time in one minute increments.
5. Add participants to the session. You can select or search for students and groups from the Participants field. Select each student or group you want to participate in the session.
6. Use Session planning to add or remove activities to the session.
Tip: To learn more about session planning, read SLP: Session Planning or Creating a playlist and navigating the dyslexia activities.
7. If this is a Make-up session for a previously canceled session, make sure to select the arrow and indicate the date of the canceled session from the calendar.
8. Select the Create button to complete creating and schedule the session on your calendar. The box turns blue if all required fields are filled.
Once created, the session is automatically added to your calendar. If you included a session plan, you'll see an icon in the bottom right of the session block.
From the calendar you can duplicate sessions, delete sessions, edit sessions, or enter sessions directly. Select the session on the Calendar to view these tools as well as specific information about the session itself.
